VEB 25th Anniversary Celebration

About this event

Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Van Evera Bailey (VEB) Fellowship!

The VEB Fellowship is an opportunity for professionals in the field to examine not only what they think, but how they think. Fellows are provided time for creativity, reflection, and a pursuit of deeper understanding of ideas that result in lasting value to the applicant, the profession, and the greater community.

We invite you to celebrate this anniversary with us at a vibrant showcase of past fellowships! Fellows will present lightning talks, engage in a dynamic discussion, and exhibit artifacts from their projects and research. In just one evening, you will hear about the collective, diverse impact this fellowship has had on the individuals, the industry, and our community as a whole.

The event will be emceed by 2015 VEB Fellow Jeff Schnabel. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

About the VEB Fellowship

Since 2001, AFO has partnered with The Van Evera and Janet M. Bailey Fund of Oregon Community Foundation in awarding the annual VEB Fellowship to advance the professional development of design and building professionals and encourage greater contributions to their profession and community. Fellows now receive $50,000 for their year-long project, and AFO has supported 27 Fellowships .

Over the past 25 years, professionals in Oregon’s built environment have expanded their knowledge and practice through a myriad of projects. Fellows have traveled extensively internationally, dived deep into the rich cultural history of the PNW region, and provided invaluable insights into their findings to the public.
