About this event
Step up for your local watershed and learn the ropes of hands-on land stewardship!
Mountain Park’s shared green spaces provide critical wildlife corridors and forest canopy, but aggressive invaders like English ivy threaten native habitat. Join us for a morning of active care for the land. You'll work alongside restoration leaders to learn proper invasive plant identification and effective removal techniques, helping build the skills needed to protect and steward our neighborhood forests. We’ll be clearing competition around established native plantings to give the understory room to thrive.
We will be working outdoors so please dress for the weather (rain gear, long pants and layers are recommended). Sturdy, closed-toed shoes are required. Bring your own water bottle. Tools, gloves, and training will be provided. Please bring any medication you may need (Asthma Inhaler, Epi-Pen, etc.) Children are welcome if accompanied by an attentive adult. There is no bathroom where we are working but there is one in walking distance. Please stop by, learn about your neighborhood's woodland ecology, and lend a hand as we enhance the habitat and the beautiful natural environment of Mt. Park!
