About this event
Another Giant Monster Movie spectacle from Eugène Lourié, Director of The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms.
When a large prehistoric monster is discovered near Nara Island, a group of sailors manage to capture it alive and sell it to a circus. The beast becomes a popular attraction in the city of London, marketed as Gorgo, a name inspired by the Gorgons depicted in Greek Mythology. Everything seems under control at first, but soon it is discovered that Gorgo is only an infant, and not long after, Gorgo’s mother Ogra rises from the depths of the ocean to rescue her son from his captors. Can Gorgo’s mother save him from the clutches of greedy men? And if so, how many people will die by the hands of her maternal rage?
Find out soon in what many consider to be Europe’s most iconic Giant Monster Movie of all time, the 1961 classic, GORGO!
