About this event

Join us for the launch of Wonder is a Lovely Place to Be: 365 Days of Wit, Wisdom, and Irrepressible Imagination , a posthumous collection of writing and drawings by beloved author Brian Doyle. Culled from decades of essays, poems, proems, story fragments, and hand-drawn sketches, this book offers a daily dose of Doyle's singular voice — playful, luminous, and full of wonder. Celebrate the release with the community that knew him best — with readings from the book and a conversation about the man who taught so many of us to pay closer attention to our own lives. Brian Doyle called it "catching the joy as it flies." Come catch a little more of it.

Free and open to all. For questions or ADA accommodations, contact 503-943-7702 or garaventa@up.edu. Co-sponsored by Garaventa Center and University Relations.

Listed by University of Portland (Localist), gathered by the Oregon City events calendar.
