About this event

In this class we aim to explore the fundamentals of classical Limon technique and Horton technique through a contemporary lens. We will play with gravity and momentum, our connection to humanity within movement, lines of energy throughout the body, and our relation to breath. These ideas will be implemented in an intermediate contemporary technique class where we will include a warm up, across the floor phrases, and end with some choreographed material. While this class will be designed for a more intermediate level dancer in mind, I encourage all levels to join as I will have modifications available along with encouraging students to take their own liberties to alter movements to facilitate their bodies needs. The dancer will leave this class with a deepened awareness of the connection between mind, body, and breath along with a rudimentary understanding of modern techniques.
