About this event
House dance is a social dance that emerged in the underground clubs of Chicago and New York during the 80's. House dance was created out of of unity, respect, and freedom of expression on the dance floors where communities gathered. This style is primarily improvisational due to its social dance roots. It is recognized by its precise footwork and fluid upper body movements that match the complexity of House music. Warm up will introduce jack, rocking and bounce, and building deep understanding of how the foundations build into codified steps. Then students will get to focus on key elements of House and learning variations of the foundational steps introduces. Class ends with a combination that utilizes what was taught at the front end of the class. Level: Beginning+ Ages: 16+
