Authorities in Clackamas County ordered evacuations Thursday night into Friday when the Clackamas River reached flood levels not seen since the 1990s; water receded by Friday afternoon but damage to boat ramps, fencing, and properties remains evident at Riverside Park.

Most evacuation orders along the Clackamas River were lifted Friday night after heavy rains caused flooding that pushed the river near Estacada to 26.25 feet — a crest higher than a record set in 1972.

Locals noted the unusual water level and gathered at High Rocks Park as conditions improved.
