- ➤ The West Linn-Wilsonville School District is planning to cut $10 million from the 2026-2027 budget because rising costs and fewer students are reducing revenue. The superintendent proposed closing two small schools, suspending programs, and reducing staff and supplies — and the School Board will decide before winter break. KATU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sen. Maria Cantwell warned that a $300,000 funding cut will force the Alaska Earthquake Center to stop sending real-time seismic data by the end of November (nine Alaska stations may go offline), which could delay tsunami warnings for Oregon and other West Coast areas. She urged NOAA to restore funding immediately to protect lives during a potential tsunami. KPTV
