- ➤ Oregon City glassware artist Gary Bodker lost his longtime studio last October when a lithium-ion battery failure sparked a fire—he is now renting a space and planning to rebuild with funds from a nearly $35,000 fundraiser while thanking donors for their support. KPTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ TriMet announced it will cut 68 positions including 26 nonunion layoffs to address a $300 million budget gap—service cuts will start on Nov. 30 with additional reductions planned in 2026 and 2027. The agency will explore fare hikes and new funding to restore financial stability. KATU
- ➤ Governor Tina Kotek signed an executive order on Wednesday to reduce carbon pollution by cutting red tape and boosting grid reliability and energy affordability—state agencies will now focus on projects that save taxpayer dollars and benefit Oregon families and businesses. KPTV

- ➤ Marie Dodds of AAA says that Thanksgiving travel next week will see record-breaking numbers and delays, with 1.1 million Oregonians among 82 million Americans planning trips and the busiest times on Tuesday and Wednesday as well as Sunday and Monday, while the lightest travel day will be Thanksgiving. She advises drivers to prepare for winter conditions (with local gas prices slightly lower now but potential changes on mountain roads) and to have a safe plan if drinking. KATU
