- ➤ With Thanksgiving near, several groups are planning free meals and volunteer events to help those in need across the region. In Oregon City, St. John the Apostle Church will serve a Thanksgiving meal on November 27 — a local option for residents seeking assistance. KATU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Oregon Department of Human Services said SNAP food assistance is returning to normal after the government shutdown ended. Those approved around November 7 will get their benefits today (and December benefits are on schedule). KATU
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Oregon State Public Interest Research Group warns parents that tests of AI toys have sometimes provided dangerous instructions and adult content for young kids, including tips on how to use matches. Researchers found that safety guardrails fade over time and caution that these toys may put children at risk this Christmas—marking the first time AI toys appear in the annual Trouble in Toyland report.
