- ➤ The U.S. Department of Justice is suing four Oregon counties—Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Marion—for blocking federal immigration investigations tied to convicted felons. The 20-page filing said each county refused to hand over subpoenaed details for 10 immigrants with criminal records. KPTV
- ➤ New SNAP rules took effect on October 1 and will cut benefits for over 313,000 households in Oregon—households including those receiving energy help and able-bodied adults are affected. The changes lower the Full Utility Allowance for about 29,000 households and add new work rules that will be applied statewide starting in January. KATU
