  • The Oregon Department of Forestry reported that traps caught the emerald ash borer in six new sites this summer, including one three miles southeast of Oregon City (five of the sites are within an existing quarantine zone). Officials warned that the pest, which harms ash trees by eating bark tissues, could spread rapidly if it builds up in numbers.  KPTV
