  • The annual Hood to Coast relay will return Friday as high temperatures rise and organizers urge racers to hydrate, wear light breathable clothes, and prepare vehicles with ice for a safe 200-mile race from Mount Hood to the coast — funds raised will benefit the Providence Cancer Institute. Olympian Lopez Lomong said his team will support each other during the race, and registration for next year's event starts on October 1.  KPTV
  • Eight-year-old Olivia Swan from Thunder Elite is competing for a spot in the 3Brand Youth Athlete of the Year award that could earn her a $25,000 prize—she is ranked 13th and will learn this week if she advances. Her father Joe Swan and coach Jessica Skaw praised her hard work and determination in the competitive field.  KATU
