GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • ODOT laid off 483 employees this week after a failed transportation bill—with 204 workers out of Marion County and 81 from Multnomah County—and officials warned that more layoffs will occur early next year while travelers may see road maintenance impacts this summer.  KPTV
  • Attorney General Dan Rayfield announced Thursday that Oregon will get up to $10.1 million from a $720 million nationwide settlement with eight opioid drug makers accused of worsening the opioid crisis. The funds will be split with 45% going to the state and 55% to local governments—money that will support prevention, treatment, and recovery programs.  KPTV
