Good morning, Oregon City. Here's your local news at a glance for Monday, the 30th of June.

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices are rising in Oregon as tensions in the Middle East drive up crude oil costs, with AAA Oregon/Idaho reporting a seven-cent jump to $4.05 per gallon while the national rate increased by six cents to $3.22 per gallon. With more summer travel expected ahead of the 4th of July, refineries will produce enough gasoline—though higher demand may keep prices elevated.  KATU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State lawmakers killed a transportation funding package on Friday that was meant to fix roads and bridges and may force deep cuts at ODOT — Gov. Kotek said she will keep working on the issue as the cuts risk more than a thousand job losses and reduced road clearance during wildfires.  KATU
