  • Seven Oregon school superintendents warned that the federal government’s proposed cuts to Head Start and school food programs may put children and families at risk — the government could withhold over $1 billion a year. They noted that the funding loss might mean fewer free lunches, preschools, and health screenings for low-income students.  KPTV
