Drew Courtright, a 26-year-old man, was stabbed to death last week at a hotel near Portland International Airport and police arrested 42-year-old Mitch Schoonover on murder and weapons charges (he has a long criminal record) with a memorial scheduled for him on April 6 in Oregon City.

Today, the USDA halted $500 million in food deliveries to food banks, and the Oregon Food Bank will lose 90 truckloads of food starting in April.

Morgan Dewey said rising demand from 2.5 million visits to food assistance sites raises concerns that many families may go without needed food – worsening the ongoing hunger crisis.
