Kids Musical Theater Dance (age 6-12, Preregister 24 hrs before, 5 student min) Creativity, collaboration, and tons of fun!!! This class will serve as an introduction to the wonderful world of musical theatre dance, and will incorporate elements from fundamental dance styles to build not only a love for make-believe, but also a basis of knowledge of dance to allow kids to spring into the expansive world of musical theatre. Lessons will include dance fundamentals, learning & rehearsing choreography, acting & characterization, building an understanding of rhythm & musicality, and so much more! Participation, Safety, and Support Policy Our studio is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all children. Our classes are group-based and taught by dance instructors who are not trained as special education teachers, therapists, or behavioral aides. To ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff: Children must be able to participate in class without behaviors that create a safety risk, including but not limited to running from the room, crying/ screaming for extended periods, physical aggression, or slamming doors. Our instructors are unable to provide one-to-one regulation, behavioral intervention, or therapeutic support during class. If a child requires individualized support, regulation assistance, or continuous adult supervision in order to participate safely and successfully, families are required to provide a qualified support person or aide to attend with the child. If appropriate support is not in place and a child is unable to participate safely after reasonable attempts and communication with the family, we may determine that the class is not a good fit at this time. We are happy to work with families to explore whether additional support would allow for successful participation.
