About this event

oin Baby Blues Connection for Mingle in the Moonlight, our annual celebratory evening of food, connection, conversation. Come for the delicious food and drinks. Mingle with fellow supporters and people who care about families. Enjoy a little friendly competition: browse the silent auction, try your luck with a mystery bag or wine wall, and stop by the photo booth to capture the moment. And in the middle of it all, we'll take 15 minutes to think about what it really means to become a parent. A Conversation About Matrescence This year's presentation features Dr. Kristen Seghete, who will introduce us to matrescence, the profound identity transition that happens as someone becomes a mother. In this brief presentation, Dr. Seghete will explore what matrescence is, why understanding it matters, and how changes in behavior connect with changes in the perinatal brain. She'll also touch on some of the long-term positive changes that can come with these brain and identity shifts. An Evening to Mingle The name says it all. We've intentionally built Mingle in the Moonlight around time to connect with other people. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with food, drinks, the silent auction and other activities opening shortly after. You'll have plenty of time to catch up with friends, meet new people and enjoy the evening before our brief presentation and fundraising activities begin. Evening highlights include:

Catered food from Frontera Sur

Drinks and plenty of time to mingle

Silent auction

Mystery bags with surprises valued at $25, $50 and more

Wine wall featuring bottles valued at $25+

The silent auction closes at 8:15 PM, followed by the presentation, live auction and paddle raise. The event officially ends at 9:00 PM, but you're welcome and encouraged to keep the conversation going a little longer. Your ticket includes a catered spread from Frontera Sur, featuring a variety of Latin American-inspired bites, including:

Beef and vegetarian empanadas

Your Ticket Helps Families Mingle in the Moonlight is a fundraiser for Baby Blues Connection. We raise funds to help families find connection, information, resources and peer support when they're experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. The need for that support doesn't exist in a vacuum. Families are navigating rising costs for groceries, gas, utilities, housing and just about everything else. Even parents who have mental health insurance may face co-pays and other out-of-pocket costs that make getting help difficult. For some families, seeking mental health support can mean making a choice between getting the help they need and paying for the basics. We don't want parents to have to make that choice. And we're concerned about what happens when parents don't get support. A parent's mental health affects the whole family, including their children. Proceeds from Mingle in the Moonlight will help Baby Blues Connection keep our core programs available to families, support our volunteers and community connections, provide education and resource navigation, and cover the general operating costs that make this work possible. We're also working toward expanding hyper-local support so families can find connection closer to home and in the communities where they live.
