A Gathering for Parents Whose Children Have Died

Making room for grief and love, sorrow and joy, loss and connection—all at once.

When your child dies, the world can feel divided into before and after. Life continues, but everything is different. And navigating that difference can feel profoundly lonely.

Holding Both is a gathering for parents who have experienced the death of a child—a place to come together without expectations, without pressure to heal, and without needing to be anywhere other than where you are.

Held in the dome at Bawbs Acres, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Columbia River Gorge, our gatherings invite us to reconnect with three essential relationships: ourselves, each other, and the natural world.

Together, we create space to explore the complexities of grief, deepen our capacity to be with difficult emotions, and consider new perspectives on love, loss, and what it means to continue living after the death of a child.

Each gathering includes:

• Space to be witnessed: An opportunity to share what is present for you and be heard without judgment, advice, or the need for anything to be fixed. Listening is equally welcome.

• Soul Work exploration: A brief teaching and reflection inspired by Soul Work: A Field Guide to Freedom , offering perspectives and questions to deepen our understanding of ourselves and our experience.

• Somatic practice and meditation: Gentle, accessible practices to connect with our bodies, cultivate presence, and expand our capacity to be with what arises.

• Time to simply be together: Unstructured time to connect, share stories, enjoy the natural surroundings, and experience the comfort of community.

There is no prescribed path through grief. No timeline. No expectation that we find meaning in the death of our children.

But there may be opportunities to discover meaning in how we continue to live, love, and relate to ourselves and the world around us.

We can miss our children and still experience beauty. We can carry profound sorrow and still know moments of peace. We can grieve deeply and remain connected to life.

We can hold both.
