About this event
What does it mean to be human? An artificial intelligence is searching Walt Whitman’s poetry for the answer. Welcome to the Whitman Sampler, the first piece of transhuman generative theatre, where code meets soul. Step into the body electric, where you don't just watch the story; you customize it. Powered by real-time audience input, the machine contains multitudes, but its output is dictated by you. Can Whitman’s rawest meditations on the cosmos be harvested to sprout new leaves of digital grass? Or does the song of myself have no algorithm?
November 13th-21st, at The Back Door Theatre
