About this event
Learn about and discuss Afrofuturism with author and scholar Walidah Imarisha. Whenever we try to envision a world without war, without violence, without prisons, without capitalism, we are engaging in an exercise of speculative fiction. Walidah Imarisha will uncover the truths buried in the fantastical - and inject a healthy dose of the fantastical into our search for truth. Registration opens October 24, 2026. Made possible by The National Endowment for the Humanities Fund of The Library Foundation .
