About this event
This class is open to all-levels/all belts, ages 5+. (All 5 year old's require coach/management approval to take this class. Any 5 year old that wants to move up to this class must have completed at least 8 Little Ninja classes and/or earned their Little Ninja yellow belt.) A climbing class is an exciting and challenging form of fitness training that focuses on rock climbing techniques and skills. Climbing classes are typically conducted in indoor climbing gyms or outdoor climbing venues and cater to individuals of various skill levels, from beginners to experienced climbers. The class typically begins with a warm-up that includes stretching, mobility exercises, and cardiovascular drills to prepare the body for climbing. The instructor will then introduce participants to the basics of climbing, including proper body positioning, handholds, footholds, and movement techniques. Participants will learn various climbing techniques, such as hand placement, footwork, body positioning, and balance, through a combination of drills, exercises, and climbing routes or problems. As the class progresses, participants will have the opportunity to challenge themselves with more difficult climbs, improve their technique, and build their strength, endurance, and confidence. The instructor will provide guidance, feedback, and corrections as needed to help participants progress in their climbing skills. Safety is a top priority in climbing classes, and participants will be taught proper safety protocols, including how to fall properly and how to assess and manage risks in climbing. Instructors will closely monitor participants' progress and provide guidance on safe climbing practices throughout the class. Climbing classes offer a full-body workout that engages the upper body, core, and lower body muscles, as well as challenges the mind with problem-solving skills, concentration, and focus. Climbing is also a social activity that encourages teamwork, communication, and support among participants. Overall, a climbing class provides an exciting and challenging opportunity for individuals to learn and develop climbing skills, improve their strength and endurance, and gain confidence in their abilities while enjoying the thrill and adventure of climbing.
