About this event
ThanksGrieving: Rituals and Resourcing for a Griefy Holiday Season
Join in a space for ritual, presence, resourcing and connection as we enter this holiday season.
We wish to acknowledge the highlighting and practice of gratitude present for many in November AND we also acknowledge that being able to be fully able to engage in that practice requires a space to honor ALL THAT HAS BEEN LOST. Gratitude and Grief are not just connected–they are not separate. We cannot touch on our gratitude without naming our grief. We cannot fully honor our grief without inviting our gratitude.
The holiday pressure that can often feel like forced merriment when you’re grieving can lead to grief coming out sideways in so many forms. We hope to offer a space that allows for you to connect to your own losses and absences, as well as to allow for community connection to other grievers at this often, difficult holiday time, all in order for you to be able to engage in the season differently, or perhaps, with less burden.
Some of what will be honored and explored
What did you expect your life would be like now?
What has changed since last year?
Who is not at the table?
What and/or who are you longing for?
What does tending to your longing look like during this time?
What does tending to your grief look like?
What does tending to your gratitude look like during this season?
